From 1910-1931, North Bend offered high school classes; first at Ora, then at the new North Bend school. Both these high schools were non-commissioned and offered less than 4 year high schools.
The first Ora school, built in 1902, cost $4,000. High school classes were conducted in that Ora school building from 1910-1913, graduating 2 students in 1911 and 6 students in 1913.
The North Bend School building (at a cost of $8,000) was begun in 1912 and opened in the fall of 1913. The first teachers there were Harry Elder, Principal Mabel Copp, Intermediate Charles Hatfield, Assistant Principal Minnie Chidister, Primary. The township high school now took the name “North Bend High School”.
In 1915 the school had 5 graduates.
The North Bend High School closed in 1931. The school building continued to house elementary education up through the 8th grade.
